Dreams are often hidden desires… even if they are terrifying. Michael Malone, a mystically enhanced vampire, destroys three immortal sorcerers and takes on their vengeful army of hell-beasts in an unprecedented battle. Now, poisoned and captured, his body is exsanguinated and left to rot in a cell beneath the city. Guided by the angel Helena, he spins a fantasy full of deep love and devotion to the one woman he treasures and his mystically-human, very troubled son. The angel focuses Michael’s fading mind through emotional twists and unexpected turns, through passionate highs and very realistic lows. Is there deliverance or the end to his immortal existence at its conclusion? Each revelation offers hope, Yet Michael’s last words doggedly remain “Let me die.” His original reasons for the singular battle were noble. One was retribution. The other is love.

A fresh voice in paranormal has arrived ~ N. N. Light’s Book Heaven
5+ stars

Think you’ve read all the stories on vampires? Think again. In this tale, a vampire at the end of his immortal life pleads for release and atonement. His reasons will astonish you…or perhaps not. At the crux of this tale is the paradox of love.

From the first page til the last, this book will capture your imagination. From the descriptive narration to the characters to the action scenes to the deep POVs, they all blend together to create an original, unforgettable paranormal romance. Yes, you read that correctly, this is an original paranormal romance.

The plot is well-conceived and the execution is brilliant. The pace is quick, almost frantic, yet it makes the reader read faster. The reader also gets to experience all the emotions of the characters at an elevated pace.

The world-building is stunning and intricate. The author builds a gritty world, a haven for vampires, mystical creatures, and more, where humans have little power. The lore of these creatures is steeped in common mythology yet the author adds her own spin to make it her own.

The characters are quite compelling and I connected with them on some level. The character that cleaved himself to me and made the biggest impact is Michael’s son. He’s in a world he doesn’t quite understand and is forced to do the unthinkable.

The writing reminds me of classic Anne Rice blended with Stephen King. M. Flagg is an up and coming paranormal romance author you will want to read. I can’t wait for more.

M. Flagg’s work is relatively new to me, but how it is written left me on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next installment. I loved the complexity with which each character has been written, giving them their strong identity and having a necessary place in Michael’s unnatural life. With his very existence in the balance, people do everything in their power to save Michael, regardless of the fact that he is not human, which gave me cause to smile. People do not often write of vampires that do good for humanity. All the characters are written in the sense that they are people we could easily want in our lives, while the evil characters left a bitter and angry taste in my mouth. I look forward to reading more tales by M. Flagg. I recommend The Vampire’s Retribution to all readers aged 15 years and over whose tastes lie with paranormal, drama, love, and romance mixed in with a supernatural showdown.

The Vampire’s Retribution by M. Flagg is an intriguing and skillfully crafted fictional story that combines themes of fantasy, horror, and action. The author’s amazing use of collaboration shows that two minds are always better than one in any situation. This may be illustrated in the case of Michael, who was poisoned but was saved from the upheaval by the Georgians, Bookmans, and Thorn who did everything in their ability. The author gives a thorough description of each character. I saw myself playing the part of every character I read about while I was reading the book. The plot of the narrative was utterly captivating. The fictitious work had an interesting descriptive approach. The hero who attempted to reconcile his life with the destiny he had to fulfill is portrayed in the novel. Will he be able to endure the situation, or will he risk his life to save the lives of the two important people in his life?

The narrative teaches us a lot about faith, which is an encouraging lesson. Alana constantly maintained her faith in any circumstance. She had to risk her life to protect her lover’s life and the safety of the other family members. Readers could see as they turned the pages of the novel how love united so many people and helped Michael endure the cross he was destined to carry. The book’s main topic is love, which endures over time and ultimately triumphs over all obstacles. Michael, Alana, Celia, and Thorn’s lives are examples of this.

There is nothing I disliked about the book. Every plot line in the book cleverly evokes images in the readers’ minds. As a means of attracting readers, the plot frequently shifts between different emotions. Vampires, empaths, demons, and sorcerers are just a few of the daring creatures that it reflects. The author’s talent for conjuring up a lifelike and engaging environment is one of the book’s strong points. The reader will have no trouble visualizing themselves in the novel because of the skillfully written descriptions of the numerous locations and creatures. The reader is kept interested throughout since the action scenes are written properly and move at a steady pace.

The editing of the book is superb. I rate the book five out of five stars because of the author’s distinctive writing style and the strong themes it portrayed. It is still evident in our modern society that love predominates and endures. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy science fiction.
